 I have a friend who also has an actiontec router and he found that
 switching it to channel 6 (it was set to channel 9) helped the OLPC find
 it.  I don't know about what's inside an actiontec, but I have some
 suspicions as this isn't the first time that I've hard of them causing
 trouble.  Please see #5723 for more actiontec+XO related troubleshooting
 if you wish.

 Does your mouse/trackpad issue sound like what we're discussing in #5575 ?
 If so, it would be nice to hear more details there.
