 My pad requires lots of rubbing in the x direction to move the smallest
 distance after some recalibrations.  Other times no x motion is possible.
 At best, recalibration produces jumpy x motion over about 3mm at the
 center of the pad.  Most of the area has no effect in the x direction.  Y
 direction works almost all of the time.
