 The problem wasn't as consistent on our OLPC as I thought.  It persisted
 on the first day of usage through several reboots (initiated via command
 in the terminal app) and "four-finger salutes".  However it disappeared
 after shutting down for the night and starting again the following day,
 and has not reappeared the third day.
