 Ok, you can grab
 http://www.gnashdev.org/dev_snapshots/gnash-20071224.tar.bz2. There is
another snapshot from last night, but I found a bug in it, so fixed it
this morning. While Gnash seems to run ok, there are a few issues with
running our testsuite. We get a hang on some systems depending on the
version of Ming used to compile the test case. I doubt ya'll run our
test suite anyway, as it takes quite a few other packages to support, so
 you should be fine.

Since the 0.8.1 release you are shipping now, this one has our initial
swf v8/9 support in it, better performing video, lower CPU load with all
renderers (they've been totally rewritten), and AMF support. So note,
unlike the previous release, this one support swf Shared Objects (flash
cookies), so this is considered a security issue. We have our
implementation setup so it's locked to only one directory, which can be
changed by this setting in ones ~/.gnashrc:

 set SOLSafeDir
 /home/test/.macromedia/Flash_Player/#SharedObjects/D6CBAJTS/
(the last number changes, it's generated at install time)
This makes it compatible with the Adobe player, and they can now
exchange flash objects with each other. In my case, I just set it to
/tmp. I also added a "soldumper" utility to Gnash as well, so anyone can
dump the contents of any "*.sol" file they find on their system to make
sure there is no privacy issue. Maybe we should hook that up to the
"Show Source" button... Oh, btw, I use "flare" for disassembling swf
 files back into source code.

We're planning on our next release of Gnash for roughly the end of Jan,
as we start to wind down from weeks of very productive hacking.
