 I've only got just over 25 entries total.  That's only about 2-3
 "screen's" height of entries, but the scrolling is entirely non-immediate.
 I don't get any scrolling feedback until I release the mouse.

 I don't think (or rather, I sincerely hope) that this is a memory problem
 with so few entries.
