#2961: Feedback is far too slow when scrolling the Journal

While playing with the Journal, I thought that the scrollbar was broken.
It seems that it waits for me to stop scrolling before updating the view,
which sort of defeats the purpose since I can't peruse the entries to find
what I'm looking for. I don't think we need smooth scrolling (well, we
technically eliminated that when we decided to scroll by entry), but we
definitely need real-time feedback about the position in the list. I'm
happy to have it jump immediately to to the set of items for the current
scroll position (without trying to interpolate and show the in-between
sets), but right now the lag is unusable. I think this is rather high
priority, since the Journal is core to the experience.

As another mention, I'm really grateful that you can now scroll the
Journal with the arrow keys, but why on earth does the focus jump up to
the search field when I reach the top of the list? This is clearly another
argument for using tab (and shift-tab) ''only'' to switch focus, and to
use the arrow keys for per widget control. (I hate you GTK focus manager
 :-P )
