 Forcing the DS to complete the indexing after every change hacks around
 this issue. If for Trial3 we are going to disable fulltext indexing
 (#3058), then we can take out this hack.

 The patch attached does this and also allows for better response to update
 signals, allowing to show in real time progress updates of downloads (and
 eventually copy of entries).
