Comment:

 Can you implement the last option (insertFirst/insertLast) for now so that
 the API makes it easy to accomplish it in either direction, for now?  If
 we decide to make a stronger call on usage later we can always remove one
 or the other from the API.  You could also create a wrapper (insert) for
 which simply calls insertFirst, so that we only expose that in the API for
 now, while keeping the option to change it/expose the options later.
