My own opinion is that all new activities should be started privately, but
have in their launchers a secondary rollover menu option to start them
within the current buddy group view.
This both provides a solid default that all activities are started
privately (kids could take time learning that they should be on the home
view to start private activities, and even after that they could easily
forget to switch to that view if they want to do something private, etc.),
and still gives the convenience of starting and sharing a new within a
buddies group view (classroom, work-group, friends, etc).
Kind of, privacy for the kid first, convenience after.[[BR]]
