 School servers have many reasons to phone home.  We need to test basic
 things such as:

 - basic health : disk usage
 - basic contents : OS image version, library image version
 - sharable content : what material is on the server for sharing and
 aggregation (separate from private backup)
 - basic identity (server IP; geolocation if available)

 In addition to what laptops are registered with the server, &c.  For Trial
 3 we should have a working phone-home ping, even if it contains no real
 information, to confirm we have the basic scripts in place to do this.
