Comment:

 Eric, while I agree with your premise that there should be some way for
 applications to provide this hint, I personally think that the camera
 activity should think about rotation and proper use by just buttons,
 particularly in ebook mode.  What is more, you should always think about
 using the space you are given, rather than fixed sizes; your application
 may be used in other environments than Sugar some day.

 However, back to the original topic: this should be implemented by X
 properties to provide hints.  DBUS is not an appropriate notification
 mechanism.

 We need to put together a proposal for the freedesktop EWMH list.
