Comment:

This one seems to have come back, if it ever was truly fixed. /etc/mtab
is on mtd0 in at least builds 406.14 and 540. I just analyzed a NAND
FLASH dump from a recently-installed, then lightly-used system. Of the
approximately 500 new NAND FLASH dirents, nearly half were mtab rewrites.
This is especially ugly because each mtab update appears to generate a
couple of backup names, each of which creates a new JFFS2 dirent node.
