The latest spec for the mesh uses only circles as access points/mesh
portals. There are no more triangles. Furthermore, the presence of the
icon within the home screen should be solely to indicate a connected
state; when there is no connection, there should be no icon at all here.
The network icon in Home should never be gray, since gray represents non-
connected access points. Instead, it should appear in your own XO colors
if you are directly connected, or in the colors of another XO acting as a
mesh portal otherwise. (When there are several XOs acting as a mesh
portal for the same access point, the XO who's colors are used are largely
arbitrary, but it would be great to identify a "preferred" path through
the mesh if possible. If the XO who's colors are used leaves the mesh or
disconnects from the access point, a new set of colors should be chosen
from the remaining mesh portals.)
The network icon should have a primary rollover which reveals the name of
the connection, and when it is a mesh portal, the name of the individual
acting as the portal beneath that. When directly connected, its secondary
rollover should indicate wireless strength via a meter. It should also
have an option to "Disconnect."
Another option to add could be "Make preferred" so that it is chosen over
others stored within network manager when multiple are available at once.
Finally, as mentioned in ticket #2467, we may later add a "Register"
option in order to register with a new school server.
