Comment:

 updating...  the segfault was fixed last thursday in the theora plugin:

 http://webcvs.freedesktop.org/gstreamer/gst-plugins-
 base/ext/theora/theoraenc.c?r1=1.61&r2=1.62

 the second observed problem was a leaked file descriptor of /dev/video0,
 causing the cafe driver to think a process was still reading from it when
 the pipeline was stopped, failing subsequent pipelines in the same
 process.  Filed a bug for that here:

 http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=432755

 and build the fix into olpc-1 gstreamer-plugins-
 base-0.10.10.1-0.7.20061109cvs and later.

 There may be one or two more problems to track down, but this should fix
 most of the ones we know about right now.
