 I hit enter to reach the second line, then typed a few "e" characters.
 Then I piled on all the accents I could find. Neat! Hitting the erase key
 doesn't make them go away though. Most of the accents remained, even after
 I got rid of the "e" itself.

 Forcing a redraw (example: go to mesh view and then back to the app) will
 fix the problem.
