 The "font-problem" file (attached) shows what fonts are needed. It was
 extracted directly from the ELF binaries on two machines, one rawhide (FC7
 beta) and the other Debian. That ought to cover nearly everything in
 actual use, excepting the names which don't follow the traditional style.

 Things like "9x15" are missing from the list. There aren't many of these.
 I find only 89 even available on the Debian system, and the ELF binaries
 in /usr/bin on that system only refer to these 13 at most:

 6x10
 6x12
 6x13
 7x13
 7x14
 8x13
 9x15
 cursor
 fixed
 micro
 variable
