 Oh!  Now I remember the last time it happened to me, and I agree it was
 directly after reflashing OFW.

 Andres, the description is that the poweroff happens exactly at the moment
 you would expect to see the kernel's black screen appear.  So, we're not
 at all sure that the kernel has control, but we know that it *should*.
