 I think this is a little shortsighted - surely more intelligence is needed
 in the manager - for instance we might want to say to the user "The amount
 of light falling on the solar panel array is insufficient" rather than
 exposing this as a blob on an obscure interface. I think a
 GetDescription() and GetIcon() API is much more suitable.
