#553: open firmware device tree inconsistant
---------------------------------+------------------------------------------
 Reporter: arnd | Owner: wmb at firmworks.com
     Type:  defect               |      Status:  new
 Priority:  low                  |   Milestone:  BTest-2
Component: ofw - open firmware | Keywords:
---------------------------------+------------------------------------------
 forgive me if I take things for granted that might be powerpc or IBM
 specific, but there are a number of things in the device tree of the
 Btest1 machine (Model FirmWorks,3.0 built-on 01321bb8) that just seem
 wrong:

 /cpus/cpu at 0:
  - missing properties for 'model', 'clock-frequency' and 'bus-frequency'.

 /pci
  * missing 'ranges' property
  * extraneous 'scsi-initiator-id' property
  * missing #interrupt-cells property (should be 2)
  * missing #interrupt-map property

 /pci/{usb at f\,5,usb at f\,4,sound,ide,video,pci11ab,nandflash,display}
  - the reg properties don't make any sense, all start addresses are zero
  - interrupt properties look fishy. they may be correct, but then they are
 rather unusual. If #interrupt-cells defined properly, they need to change

 /pci/pci11ab,3101
  - should have a proper name
  - should have a device-type (ethernet?)

 /pci/ide /isa/fdc /isa/parallel
  - these are not used and should not be represented in the devtree

 /dev/pci/nandflash
  - would be nice to have the media size (512MB) encoded here

 /flash
  - extraneous #address-cells property
  - missing device-type
