I wanted to make sure that they got in touch with the folks at OLPC EU if they were interested in doing so, and ask if they'd heard about the Give Many program (which makes it much, much easier to start your own local pilots, with discounted prices and support for quantities of over 100 XOs).<br>

Could you help us make contact? I've cc'd the university-chapters mailing list on this, as a good place for you and your classmates to go if you'd like to hang out with like-minded students (there isn't much activity on it lately, but we are trying to change that).<br>

Now we will spend two months in ethiopia supporting the pilot project located at Addis Abeba. The goal of our Diploma Thesis<br>
is to develop a concept for enduring success of OLPC in Ethiopie by involving Addis Abeba University and setting up<br>
a partnership with our university.<br>

So we have got 2 universities :-) and maybe some new approaches for OLPC's universtiy program.<br>
Next week, we will give a presentation to Prof. Dr. Maria Overbeck-Larisch, president of Hochschule Darmstadt.<br>
Our university is the biggest university of applied sciences in Germany and we want to set up a partnership<br>
with OLPC. Our dean (departmend Media) is supporting our efforts, e.g. by providing a bureau.<br>

You mention Template flyers and letters at the wiki page, can you send them to us? Maybe you could<br>
give us some good arguments we did not think about you to convince our president?<br>

Question 1:<br>
Is it possible to order 100 laptops by participating the givemany program as a German university? 40 Laptops<br>
would be send to a developping country, right? Could we decide to send them to Ethiopia? We have heard<br>
contradictory information about this.<br>

Question 2:<br>
Is there an official University Program by OLPC (or will be) or is it "just" some kind of community network?<br>
Beeing an official part of OLPC's University Program would be indeed an argument for our president ;-)<br>
<br>
This is just an initial mail to inform you about our approach and our never ending fascination of OLPC.<br>
