Thank you James for your suggestions. The .zd file on the disk did turn out to be incomplete!<br>Also, it is likely now that my USB to VGA adapter is unsupported. The model number is USB2VGAE2<br>as opposed to USB2VGA2, which is on the list of supported hardware. <br>

</div>Getting half way through an install will result in useless filesystem,<br>
you must finish the install fully before trying to boot. (That is to<br>
say anything you experience after a failed install is really<br>
uninteresting.)<br>
