Tubes:

   - Bugs 3506 and 2853, Dan is working on today which will disable link
local if the XO is connected to a jabber server.
      - If there is a valid IP address, it will try to connect to
jabber service. If it connects, it will disable link local
      - If the jabber service goes away, it will re-enable link local.

   - Bug 2890 should be fixed and has to get into the next build.
   - Bug 2463, when the initiator of a shared activity leaves, others can
no longer join, even though it looks like they can from the neighborhood
   mesh view.
      - If we had fully understood this bug earlier, it would have
been good to shut down the activity when the initiator left, and
then figure
out a better solution for FRS. The way it works now is just
really confusing
and will cause complaints and support calls. The longer term
solution needs
to allow another laptop to advertise the shared activity if the first one
      leaves.

Journal/Datastore:

   - There are a couple of bugs related to journal freezing or crashing
that Marco believes are fixed. Ben is reviewing the patches. Hopefully these
will get in the next build.
   - Some of the changes that were added recently to the journal caused
some unstability. At this point we need to know what else is needed to feel
good about the journal in terms of tracking activities, resuming, basic
search, working with a USB stick, and installing bundled files from USB and
from browse (XO and XOL). Marco and Ben will try to provide an update later
today or tomorrow on recommended fixes to get to stability.
   - We talked about the human-readable name issue and all the
implications of changing names and titles. The user requirement is that if
the student copies an image, an abiword doc, or pretty much anything from
the journal to the USB stick, that they need to be able to find it again
later with a human-readable filename (the one in the upper left of the
   activity when it was open).
   - Issues brought up include the problems with non-unique names; the
fact that the title is totally separate from the file store naming. What
happens if you try to change or use the activity right from the
USB stick?
And the fact that having a common name does not mean the data is
readable by
some other program (like an abiword doc saved to a USB key may not be
      readable by anything else).
      - We asked Marco to think about what it would take to implement
just the simplest case and see if we can document the things that won't
      work.
