Before sending to two large mailing lists, you should search for the<br>
existing TRAC ticket about it:<br>

A search for "control panel software update" brought it right up as<br>
the 2nd ticket.<br>
<br>
The way to circumvent the bug is to go to the console terminal and<br>
do "mkdir /home/olpc/Activities" and "chown olpc /home/olpc/Activities".<br>
Then the updater will work.<br>
