I have no knowledge of the GTK accessibility API, but perhaps you should
consider subclassing Gtk.Label into GTK.KaraokeLabel. To an Activity developer,
a KaraokeLabel behaves exactly like a Label. However, if the user has turned on
TTS, then whenever the contents of the label change, they will be read aloud,
and each phoneme will be highlighted as it is being spoken.
I don't know whether you can do this without subclassing Label.
