I think alt-esc might be better, for consistency. It's also entirely
consistent with your description above. Personally, I usually think of
"cut" as a strengthened, more dangerous form of copy. Similarly, alt-esc
(close this window) is a strengthened, more dangerous form of Esc, which
typically means something like "request politely to leave current action".
