It would be probably good to mention that we would like to use
gtkmozembed + pyxpcom. Python only embedding does not seem very
realistic in our timeframe.
I'm not sure what you mean exactly with "something more conservative
like Firefox" but if you mean to implement the Read activity in XUL, I
think that's a bad idea (it would make integration with Sugar way too
difficult).
