As I mentioned in private, I haven't seen this happen, ever. I haven'
t played with a Huawei myself, but I sure have played with other
similar modems. Any hints or ideas welcome.

Luis - are you using a driver provided by Huawei or a driver already
included in the standard kernel of the XS?

This whole story reminds me of Linus "dialling his hard drive" and
overwriting the mbr. :-)
