Caching static files is certainly doable across XOs. If you're  
thinking of a P2P system, though, the harder problems are cache  
discovery and content authentication.

I had some concrete ideas on how to build this as part of the new  
datastore effort with OLPC, but it's no longer clear I'll be able to  
work on it.
