Hi Nick,

Thanks so much for your email! In case our education chair didn't get a chance to get in touch with you yet, I just wanted to let you know that we are winding down for the semester. We're in the middle of finals, so we're finishing up the current pilot program at the Cambridge Friends School with the hope of starting another pilot program in the fall (while continuing to help out at CFS).

If you're interested, one great way to help would be to mock up some lesson plans. I sent out sample lesson plans to the list a couple of days ago. Since you have a specific interest in several of the activities, you could think about how to integrate those programs into school curricula. That's definitely our biggest challenge! Anyway, let me know if you're interested in doing some lesson plan development, as well as your fall availability.

Thanks!
Katelyn

On Wed, May 6, 2009 at 3:21 PM, Mel Chua <metamel@gmail.com> wrote:

Hi, Nick - did anyone from the list ever reply to you? If you haven't already been sucked into our happy volunteering world, there are some projects I could point you towards.

(Folks, if I might request replying - at least initially - to the list so that we know that newcomers with questions are being taken care of, that would be awesome. Thanks!)
Hi,

I'm a student at Carnegie Mellon and returning to the Boston area next week. Please let me know if you could still use some help on the geometry/mapping project or the metropolis/SimCity project which were posted on the wiki site. I saw these posted last month but I was in the middle of an OLPCorps application and college so there wasn't much I could do.
Since I'm a civil engineering major, I'd enjoy putting something together for the OLPC involving mapping or city-building. Let me know how I can help.

Regards,
Nick Doiron
