Background:
The Digital Literacy Project <http://www.digiliteracy.org> (DigiLit) is a
non-profit and Harvard student organization that promotes digital literacy
by initiating laptop pilot programs in elementary and middle schools around
the globe. Founded in the fall of 2008, the DigiLit team consists of 20
undergraduate student volunteers from Harvard College, Massachusetts
Institute of Technology, and Carnegie Mellon. By developing training
materials and laptop-based curricula for teachers and students, DigiLit
seeks to encourage sustainable technology practices. The overall goal is to
seamlessly integrate technology into the classroom, so that it becomes a
tool rather than an afterthought.
