I think this is my first post on this group. Hi all!!<br><br>A couple of things.<br><br>1. You don't need the OLPC to be able to "play around" with it. You can download the OLPC ISO and boot into it in VMWare (you should even be able to get your hands on an Appliance for VMWare). This is all legally free AFAIK, and I've done it, so if anyone needs help I can explain how to go about it, if you like. Currently I'm not very comfortable giving it to my kids to play with, I think they will be very confused. Maybe I just don't understand how it works myself, and that's why we need more people "playing around" with it!
<br><br>2. I live in Pretoria. When is the Dept of Labour conference / session? I might be interested in attending, but I'm not an active member on OLPC and maybe I'm too technically inclined.<br><br>3. I'm a programmer (mainly Windows stuff but I've tinkered with Linux quite a bit), and I've followed the OLPC project with great interest for the last while. I'm scared of getting too involved, since I've got a lot on my place already, but I would like to help where I can.
