[Olpc-za] Laptops to Lesotho - GSM internet (Digest 32:1)

Hi Henk & Cilliers,

I'm located in the U.S.  

We are pretty sure there is adequate GSM service in the Ketane community.  A man who lived there until recently used a GSM (USB) modem on his laptop to access the internet, though after he left, others couldn't get the modem to work.  There is a woman there now who uses her cell phone to access the internet.  The service does occasionally go out in really bad weather, but otherwise it is good.  

We will find out for certain, hopefully soon, when Vodacom does an site analysis.  I'll keep you posted.
