1

If everybody agrees the next meeting should be held online either on #olpc-meeting or I can create one for our uk group.

The OLPC UK community is and will be distributed across various cities and towns across the UK. Ensuring maximum participation in meetings should be a priority. The best and easiest solution would be to host meetings online.

2

To maintain the human touch, we should have annual social/community get togethers to meet people in person. Preferably in the summer.

I have also created an OLPC UK facebook group for social networking within the community. It is a test to see how useful it is. If there is no interest, I will cancel the FB group.

3

I see the development of the OLPC UK group in three phases:

A) The Beginning Phase
B) The Organisational Phase
C) The Stable Phase

The are several items of action for step A, we don't need to be too specific in defining the groups future plans at this stage. We need to map out the goals of the organisation. Planning the future course of action is essential; it will determine what has to be done. Later, we can worry about when and how these goals can be accomplished. Some fairly concrete guidelines should be established first. For example, need to draw up a list of priorities in terms of what must be done in order of importance.

I'll see you all the next meeting hopefully. The previous and current venue is not appropriate for me.

Faisal.

2009/4/12 <michael_jordan50@bigpond.com>:
> OLPC UK meeting number one was an excellent success, with a strong sharing of ideas and a great variety of people and backgrounds; an excellent platform for a successful organisation.
>
> Aiming high the group has committed to doing everything possible to acheive a pilot by September 2009. This will take some hard work and strong co-operation so we look forward to seeing you at:
