Ed,

We had 30 minutes of wiki downtime starting from SJ's report at 1755 EST
today. Chris and I responded by:

  1. pinging wiki.l.o, which was responsive
  2. connecting to weka and examining top, which showed squid2 pegging
     the CPU.
  3. Following the instructions at [[Machine:squid2]], connecting to
     squid2.
  4. observing via top that squid was consuming 100% of the squid2 VM's
     cpu.
  5. stracing squid looking for clues
  6. installing and running tcptrack to check out network conditions
  7. reaching no conclusion about the cause of failure and
  8. running /etc/init.d/squid restart, which restored service.
