let everybody know that they are welcome to join in any
of these translation projects, or to request others. This includes
teachers and students whose English is good enough to understand most
of the content, and those who do not know English but who can edit the
draft translations. We will be happy to answer questions on the
discuss@lists.flossmanuals.net mailing list, and some of us can get on
the OLPC-Sur mailing list, too.
There are more than a million XOs in use in Spanish-speaking
countries, and more than another million computers that can run Linux
and Sugar on order there. The Sugar software for the OLPC XO and other
versions of Linux includes a command line interface in the Terminal
Activity, for which we have an introductory manual.

The CLI manual would make a perfect next step.
I see that we do not have Spanish translations organized for most the
Sugar manuals. They are desperately needed. What do we have to do to
finish this one?

What should I do to get Spanish translations projects started for the
rest of the Sugar manuals, and then for everything else that FM has
published?

Two days for 8-10 knowledgeable people full time should give you a
good first draft. Longer with fewer people or with part-time
participants or with a need to get people up to speed on the content.
We would have to create a Spanish-language translation memory and
style guide if we want to make our Spanish translations consistent. I
don't know how much computer terminology varies among Spanish-speaking
countries, but I know that there is not a single Spanish, any more
than there is a single English.
Target countries include Peru, Uruguay, Mexico, Spain, and Venezuela.
Possibly Bolivia. We also need Portugues do Brasil.
