Hey Yama and all!

The picture is not a Classmate, It is a very old laptop (Pentium III), which
left a Spanish volunteer in the Home and nobody use it.

I have 2 Xo's (in a couple of days 3), 3 old desktop computers (Pentium IV)
running Edubuntu and Sugar, and the laptop I mentioned above.

I talk with a couple of organizations (Rotary) that have projects to "break the
digital divide" and had no knowledge of the existence of Free and Open
Source Software, or the Xo. The goal of talk with these organizations is to
expand their experience (with the Xo, Sugar and Etoys) through their
pilot projects
in different communities in Santa Cruz. (We will do some workshops to show
them how the Xo, Sugar and Etoys work [in April and May].

I also talk with the person who is in charge of the "Bibliobus" in Santa
Cruz (I will post this soon in the Blog), to include in May and June the 3
Xo's in a small demonstration of a few weeks in the neighborhoods that visit
the Bibliobus. The aim of this is to show the Muncipality of Santa Cruz what
we can do with the Xo and Sugar.

Hey yama y todos!

La foto no es una Classmate, es una laptop muy antigua (Pentium III), que
dejó un voluntario Español en el Hogar y nadie la usa.

Tengo 2 Xo's (en algunos días más 3), 3 viejas computadoras de escritorio
(Pentium IV) corriendo Edubuntu y Sugar, y la laptop que mecionaba más
arriba.

Hable con algunas organizaciones (el Rotary) que tiene proyectos para
"romper con la brecha digital" y que no tenían conocimiento sobre el
Software Libre o la Xo. El objetivo de hablar con estas organizaciones es
expandir su experiencia (con la Xo, Sugar e Etoys) a través de sus proyectos
piloto en diferentes comunidades de Santa Cruz. (Haremos algunos talleres
para mostrarles como funciona la Xo, Sugar e Etoys [Esto será en abril o
mayo].

También hable con la persona encargada del "Bibliobus" de Santa Cruz (En
unos días pondré esto en el Blog), para incluir en Mayo y Junio las 3 Xo's
en una pequeña demostración por algunas semanas en los barrios que visita el
Bibliobus. Uno de los objetivos de esto, es mostrar a la Municipalidad de
Santa Cruz las posibilidades y potencialidades que tenemos con la Xo y con
Sugar.
