Ed,

Me alegra te haya gustado la idea y desees extenderla a nivel mundial.  Mis pensamientos eran mucho más modestos y en otra dirección.

Mi impresión es que los niños,  ahora que se les entregaron computadoras,  piensan que son herramientas para hacer el trabajo de la escuela y tal vez divertirse un poco jugando juegos.

Me preocupa que podrían no ver claramente la relación entre las computadoras escolares y las lecciones de programación y las computadoras y conocimientos de programación en el mundo real.

Me gustaría contarles sobre algunos usos interesantes de computadoras y programación,  en el mundo real de los adultos en sus ocupaciones laborales.

Si esos cuentos,  en vez de llegarles de mí,  pudiesen llegarles de gente cercana a ellos,  la lección sería mucho más efectiva.

Sus familiares o los familiares de alguno de sus compañeros de clase,  son los adultos más creíbles.

Esperemos que estos niños se den cuenta que podrían hacer estos trabajos interesantes,  cuando crezcan,  empleando los conocimientos y capacidad que están adquiriendo en la escuela.

Esto podría ser un gran incentivo para ellos,  para tratar de aprender más y más rápido

Ed,

I´m glad you liked the idea and want to go worldwide with it.

My thinking was much more modest and in a different direction.

My impression is children,  now that computers have been issued to them,  think they are tools to do schoolwork and maybe to have some fun playing games.

I am concerned they might not clearly see the relation between school computers and programming lessons and the use of computers and programming knowledge in the real world.

I would like to tell them about some interesting uses of computers and programming,  in the real world of adults at work.

If instead of coming from me, these news could come from people close to them,  the lesson will be very effective.

Their relatives or the relatives of some classmates,  are the most credible adults.

Hopefully, these children will realize they could be doing that interesting kind of work,  when they grow up,  using the knowledge and capacity they are getting in school.  

This could be a great incentive for them to try lo learn more and faster.
