Caryl, I have some amazing news that I need to talk to you about.

I am just back from the National Society of Black Engineers Annual Convention where the XO I took with me stole the show.

Please visit www.nsbe.org as this worldwide association which is college student based, student run operation has started to implement amazing stem programs at the high school level and the next phase will be to target elementary and middle school levels.

I think some of the leadership might be interested in exploring how to incorporate XOs as tools to develop greater pipelines of students prepared to enter Engineering schools.

Let me know if I can connect with you, Adam and anyone else you recommend.

Take care, Brian

This communique is full of thanks!!!

Hi SoCal Open Source in Education Enthusiasts,

The list has been very quiet so far, so I have taken the liberty of changing the reply method so that all replies to messages will go to everyone rather than just the person being replied to.

This way, when we do get some discussions going, everyone can be included. If you find this is a problem, with too many emails coming at you, you can go in and change your preferences to receive the messages in digest form.

If you are replying to a message and do not want to include the entire list, you can easily delete the addresses from the address bar and just enter the address of the person or persons you want to send it too.

In the next day or 2, I will be adding several names to the list. When I have finished, I will be sending some interesting things about available Sugar resources, the LAUSD Tech Fair, and one or more of the local Contributors Program projects using XOs in the Southern California area.

If you have any interesting news about Open Source software in education in the Southern California area, please share them with the list!

Caryl OLPC Support Volunteer and SoCal list moderator
