Cherry and Jakub,<div><br></div><div>I was also thinking about doing some screencast/video scenarios so the students (and teachers) can see what to do.</div><div>I will be happy to work with you on this Cherry when you return.</div>
<div><br></div><div>That being said, the most common troubleshooting questions (for our kids) have been:</div><div>1. "I'm not connected to the internet!" (I show them the Network View and how to connect to our schoolserver).</div>
<div>2. "I can't find my work!" (I show them the Journal and how it works).</div><div>3. "How do I save my project?" (I show them how to use the Sugar toolbars and how to save whatever they are working on. I typically also show them, right then, how to resume their work for the next session).</div>
<div>4. "My computer won't go on" (I show them how to make sure they are plugged in and charging).</div><div>5. "I can't find (activity name) in the circle!" (I show them how to use the list view to indicate/remove favorites).</div>
<div><br></div><div>I hope this helps.</div><div>Thanks.<br>Gerald<br><br><div class="gmail_quote">On Sun, Apr 4, 2010 at 11:26 PM, Cherry Withers <span dir="ltr"><<a href="mailto:cwithers@ekindling.org">cwithers@ekindling.org</a>></span> wrote:<br>

Perhaps a visual clickable troubleshooting tool would be ideal as a universal template due to the international deployment nature of OLPC projects..<br><br>i.e. picture of XO & if you click on the power button it would show you an if then flow chart approach to trouble shooting problems... cick on wifi antennas & you would benefit from Wireless connection advice... etc. for translation Google translate & a bilingual volunteers could be used to edit the google translation for accuracy & native speaker naturalness. :)<br>
