[OLPC-SF] Fixing an XO-1 with a dead keyboard and mouse

I have an XO-1 from the g1g1 program and recently the keyboard and touchpad
stopped working. When I run the diagnostics it fails on the keyboard test
with this:

Is it likely something as simple as a loose connector?  Should I crack it
open and try to diagnose it?
