[OLPC-SF] Locked OLPC's in Ethiopia

I have just met a gentleman who has a 500 OLPC XO project in Ethiopia.  
The XOs have become locked and need a special code he tells me.  Since 
these are not connected to the internet, they have been told nothing can 
be done to unlock them.
So the XOs have now been sitting for nine months in storage, unusable.

Emails to OLPC HQ have gone unanswered

Any ideas what they can do?
