Al Gore unfortunately declined, speaking at the Commonwealth Club.

Dear Sally:

Thank you very much for inviting Former Vice President Al Gore to meet with
you regarding the OLPC-SF Program. Mr. Gore appreciates you extending this
invitation to him.

I regret that he will be unable to meet with you for the foreseeable future
due to the current demands on his time, and in addition, Mr. Gore has chosen
to maintain a neutral stance on all green projects, plans, and products.
It's very difficult to decline invitations such as yours, but it's an
unfortunate inevitability of the growing influence of the climate crisis
message and the demand on Mr. Gore's time.

On behalf of the Former Vice President, thank you again for your kind
invitation.

Sincerely,

Patrick Hamilton
Director of Scheduling

Craig Newmark sent info on how to tap the Charitable Fund and new
friend-matching interests club.

Dave Iverson, producer/host/ SF things, ear of Forum editor and the news
editor.

Suggested story Room to Read, Asia Foundation's Books to Asia and OLPC-SF,
call-in. He liked it.

Coverage by Jill Tucker, SF Gate, facts on Summit.

The story that got away: striking woman who lives in Taipei who co-created
the XO at MIT with Nicholas.

Patrick Hamilton could help get our vid story on Al's SF station. Maybe get
it on KQED TV, Star TV Asia. Who else wants to work on this? June?
Madagascar would be hot!

Need a video of Yoshiki's presentation -- Thank you! (Cherry Withers)

Wish I'd had more face-time at the Summit, so imaginative! Never saw
anything like it before!
