Talat Khan, Team Leader, Rehnuma Public School in Karachi, Pakistan
http://patheducation.org
Originally from Pakistan, Talat has worked for the San Francisco Unified
School District teaching high school Physics and Chemistry over a span
of 21 years. She visited Pakistan in 2007 where she learned about the
K-5th grade Rehnuma Public School in Karachi for poor children that
needed funds to extend the program for the 6th grade. She's adopted the
school and has grown the program to K-8th grade with a 9th grade
curriculum beginning in 2011. She is now working with OLPC Pakistan to
add a computer component to the program.

Bruce Baikie, Green WiFi
http://www.green-wifi.org
On January 3rd 2011, Bruce Baikie, Founder of Green WiFi, traveled to
Haiti for a site survey trip with a team of students and their professor
from Illinois Institute of Technology. The goal of this trip was to
collect specific technical data on One Laptop per Child (OLPC) pilot
schools in Lascahobas that will enable a solar installation to take
place in May 2011. Baikie has been mentoring the IIT students on the
design of a replicable, open-source, Direct Current - only solar
solution to charge the XO laptops at these pilot schools; a solution
that can be employed across Haiti and in other countries, such as
Rwanda.
