I should add that this set of XOs is part of a contributor project for
Carol Ruth Silver's effort via MTSA in Afghanistan.
http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Projects/MTSA Any help with the videos and
help Jim reflash these would be much appreciated. There are 140
members on the list. Now is your chance to be a part of one of the
seven micro-deployments based in the SF Bay Area!

Thus far we have heard from [privately-funded] teams that went to:

* Afghanistan (Carol Ruth Silver/MTSA)
* India (Sameer Verma & Humaira Mahi/SFSU)
* Jamaica (Sameer Verma/SFSU +Univ. of West Indies)
* Madagascar (June and Alex Kleider)
* Senegal (Bruce Baikie + Drew School + Lick Wilmerding School)
* South Africa (EduWeavers.org)
* San Francisco (Ted Kuster/StarrKing)

Deployment teams, don't forget to ask for help on the list and try to
keep conversations on the list as much as possible - cross-pollination
of ideas doesn't occur in silos. Listers, do help out any/all of these
deployments with various activities as and when possible.

I am personally quite thrilled that we, as a group, now have momentum
and this plane might actually take off! There's a "invitation only"
event going on at 1CC this weekend where all the teams from OLPCorps
Africa and South America are meeting to exchange notes. Hopefully,
good documentation/notes will come out of these meetings. We should
think of doing something like this here as well. Stacey Kertsman of
eduWeavers had suggested something along these lines. I'll post more
once we have more info on it.

The meeting on the 17th will be at SFSU's down town center. I'll send
out an announcement shortly.

cheers,
Sameer
