Dear library lovers,<br>
<br>
There has been some recent work on making archives of digital works<br>
easier to use and share, both online and offline.  The OPDS 'book<br>
server' standard for sharing an archive of books (and other media) has<br>
grown up, and has many programs and apps that support it.  Some OLPC<br>
hackers have developed a simple implementation of it, called Pathagar<br>
(thanks, Sayamindu!).  And Uruguay may soon be implementing a<br>
bookserver on all of their school servers.<br>

Recently Sameer Verma of OLPC-SF has set up a bookserver build that<br>
he's deploying as a standalone appliance in a small school in India<br>
with computers for their children:<br>

Contributions to Pathagar and bookreading clients like Get Books, and<br>
