Hello everybody,

For those attending the OLPC Get Together I have organised on the June 28 at 4pm, I have been able to get two places available to conduct the meeting. For those members who have RSVP already on their attendance please email me directly which of the two would you prefer. The one with the most votes wins.

1. Ascot Makati Conference Room. This is located at Ascot Makati. Their address is Glorietta 4, Ayala Centre, Makati.

2. MWSS Training Room. This is located at the MWSS office at Balara, Quezon City.

So far only 4 people have confirmed there attendance.

Thanks.

Charles

And more responses to the list! I think all of our conversations have
been moved by now. I will check.

Note that once deployments start, support-engineering and
development-engineering are going to be quite different things. (Make
existing tech work on the ground, vs develop new tech.)

Also note that development-engineering may mainly be work upstream in
the main Sugar Labs (or whatever) projects - I do not really see us
having to write a lot of Philippines-specific code (...I honestly can't
think of any examples of why we'd need to do this at the moment. Can
anybody?)

If someone reminds me at the meeting, I would be happy to make sure the
meeting gets logged.

I actually don't know where and when the meeting is. Can someone clarify?

We are now! For our meeting date/time/place, please see... *drumroll*

http://wiki.laptop.org/go/OLPC_Philippines/Meetings

If people have accompanying materials, can you please upload them to the
wiki or somehow link to them from the agenda?

Also, I took the liberty of assuming a chat channel (which has a logging
meeting bot). Please correct me if I'm off.

Hello

Is a good advice to take Bryan's work from Nepal very close as a role model
to follow,  in order to start an organization that stands for open and free
education and software.

OLE Nepal is one of the scarse examples of succes on an small-to-medium
deployment (separated from the national government) of OLPC.

Bryan was a recent guest in the FLOSS weekly podcast and he gave some
very good insights on starting at grassroots level and eventually
penetrating mainstream!
