I understand the use of free software to keep the cost down. That makes
perfect sense.
It's the religious zeal of the FOSS types that turn off a LOT of people.

We should be delivering content and software they can use at no cost.
Beyond that, we should just shut up. Otherwise, we'll be labeled FOSS
zealots and a lot of doors will close.
To my understanding, free software was used to lower the cost. An XO - XP
version will add another $10 to the cost of each laptop. That is why, I
think, many people were so vocal by using FOSS alone on the laptop or their
doors will _also_ be closed.
