[OLPC-Philippines] Laptop content: breaking news: PhilippineCybered

So very true. When I was in my teens (just after the Jurassic), everyone
seemed to want to learn to program computers. That always seemed foolish to
me ... as not everyone needed to know how to build a nuclear reactor to be
able to benefit from its output.

Anyway, do we have good contacts in the potential cyber learning program?
Or, do we need to develop them? Does anyone have any names for the program
leadership?

Unfortunately, my contacts with the DepEd here in Tacloban are indirect and
only with the nurses (they helped us identify the most malnourished kids and
provided help with a de-worming program).

Frankly, I'm more interested in the DepEd courseware/ educational
content that's going to be developed.

I think that's the most important thing to deliver to students, and my
concern with the XO. Laptops in the classroom need relevant content to
go with them in order to be successful.
