Excellent, thank you! If he needs any help getting the activity fixed, he is welcome to send a mail to sugar-devel@lists.laptop.org.

-Wade

I have found what I think is a likely email address for the original uploader, and have attempted to contact him.

It would be great to get the original author to fix it and finish it up.

Right now it's probably not worth the effort to fork it to gitorious,
fix it, and post a new bundle.

BTW, if you're interested in helping make Sugar, we have plenty of
coders who would be happy to help you get started!
Thanks, Wade. Though I am a programmer by trade, my familiarity with Sugar ends at the UI. Is this something you are capable of fixing, or should I attempt to inform the original uploader, Sulmanminhas?
Quick update, it turns out the activity just has the old problem where it
tries to load files without prepending the bundle path.
It might be nice if Sugar would start activities in their bundle
directories, I think it used to.
Hi Tom,
There are a ton of activities out there like this one that were started at
some point and not finished, or else were finished but not kept up to date
as Sugar evolved.

I downloaded this one and tried it out. Assuming that it wouldn't work, I
downloaded the .xo file using wget, unzipped it using unzip, and then ran
'python setup.py dev' in the BasicMaths.activity directory. After
restarting Sugar I launched the activity and it came up just fine, but I
noticed the following problems:

- MANIFEST file is totally wrong, contains an extra path.
- Icon doesn't follow Sugar icon conventions.
- The activity itself is extremely basic. It consists of an equation
missing an operator, with some operator buttons to click on, and text
telling you whether you were correct or not.

That said, it did work for me. It would be interesting to know what the Log
activity shows for it on your XO. It would also be great to contact the
author and try to convince them to complete it.

We recently started a SugarLabs ActivityTeam to try and catalog and
(eventually) fix these kinds of activities, and it would help us a lot if
you could document this and any other finds at:

http://sugarlabs.org/go/ActivityTeam/ActivityStatus

Also, there are a couple of Math-related Sugar activities in development
right now. If you're interested in helping out with one, let me know and I
can point you in the right direction.

Best,
Wade
There is a Basic Math Game activity listed on the Math portal page
(http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Math), but when I download it to my XO, and
attempt to Start it from the Journal, nothing appears to happen.

Have others tried this activity? Should I expect it to work? If so,
what can I do to troubleshoot?

Thanks,
