Hi,
Not sure if any one tried before. Recently YouTube is providing MP4
download link for its videos. Also, there's a way to create a direct
link (http://googlesystem.blogspot.com/2008/04/download-youtube-videos-as-mp4-files.html).
I tried with livna package of mplayer and it actually plays 480x360
H.264 video very smoothly with the following option set:
$ mplayer -ao sdl -vfm ffmpeg -lavdopts fast=1:skiploopfilter=all video.mp4
As the Gnash on XO is w/o necessary codec compiled in and Adobe flash
performance is poor on XO, would it be a good solution to watch
YouTube with an external media player?
